TO SPEC

A workshop robot that builds exactly what the order says.

Order cards drop through a brass slot. SPEC, a measuring instrument that also builds things, reads each one and does precisely what it says. Not what it means. The customer is never seen, only their cards, which get louder as the workshop falls apart. The last card is the punchline.

SPEC is a cartoon; the order cards are fiction. When an order was inspired by a real log, the caption says so.
